According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, an aircraft accident occurred on April 30, 2021 at approximately 7:50 am at the Tahlequah City Airport, in the city limits of Tahlequah Oklahoma, Cherokee County.


According to the report a 1979 Air Tractor operated by Tyler Sherrick 27 of Welch was on a southbound approach from the north to Tahlequah City Airport. Upon landing the aircraft left approx. 241 feet of tire marks.

The front of the aircraft tipped forward causing the left propeller to strike the runway.

Aircraft departed runway to the west, aircraft nose and propeller became lodged in the grass causing the aircraft to turn over landing on its top facing northeast.

The investigation was turned over to the FAA.

Sherrick was transported by Northeastern Health System to Northeastern Health Center in Tahlequah.

He was later transferred by life flight to Saint John Hospital in Tulsa and was admitted in fair condition, with head and neck injuries.
