According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, an injury collision occurred on Jan 30, 2017, at approximately 6:29am on Blue Top Road, 2.7 miles east of County Road 584 and 14 miles south and 6.3 miles east of Tahlequah in Cherokee County.

 

According to the report, a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze driven by Edith Sixkiller 49, of Jay, was northbound on Blue Top Road and failed to negotiate a right curve and departed the roadway to the left.


The vehicle struck a tree and then struck a ditch embankment and then rolled approximately 1 and ½ times and came to a rest on it’s top.


Sixkiller was partially ejected but was pinned in the vehicle for approximately 30 minutes before being freed by Cookson Fire Department.

 

She was transported by First Flight to Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, AR and was admitted in serious but stable condition with head and trunk internal injuries.
