Lamar Man Sentenced To 12 Months Probation For Conversion Of Mortgaged Property Featured

MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma announced that John Tyler Bible, age 27, of Lamar, Oklahoma, was sentenced to one year probation for Conversion Of Mortgaged Property, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Section 658.

 

The charges arose from an investigation by the Department of Agriculture Office of Inspector General.

 

The Information alleged that on or about June 6, 2012, and continuing through December 16, 2013, within the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the defendant, knowingly and with intent to defraud, willfully concealed, removed, disposed of, or converted to his own use certain property – cattle having a value in excess of $1,000.00 – and which was at the time of said disposition, mortgaged, pledged to and held by, United States Department of Agriculture-Farm Service Agency.

 

The Honorable Ronald A. White, U.S. District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, presided over the hearing.

 

Assistant United States Attorney Christopher Wilson represented the United States.
