Man injured in one vehicle accident on Highway 62 in Cherokee County Featured

At 1:47 am on June 17, 2017, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were dispatched to the scene of a one vehicle accident that occurred 5 miles East of Tahlequah in Cherokee County on Highway 62.


According to the report a 1996 Ford Ranger, driven by Jessie Duffield 60, of Tahlequah, was east bound on US62 when failed to negotiate a curve ran off the road to the right, he then over corrected, struck a tree and over turned one time before coming to a stop.


Duffield was transported by First Flight in stable condition with head arm and trunk internal injuries.

According to the report the condition of the driver was odor of alcohol and the cause of collision was driving under the influence.

Duffield was pinned in his vehicle for approximately 3o minutes before being freed.


The accident was investigated by Tommy Mullins, Trooper Cody Cox, Trooper Aaron Wall, Trooper Zach Woods all from the Adair/Cherokee County Detachment of Troop C, Welling Fire Department, Northeastern Health Systems, and First Flight.
