The Oklahoma Department of Libraries (ODL) is now accepting applications for the position of Library Development Consultant (Librarian III, OMES Classified Job Description E21C) in the Office of Library Development.
The Library Development Consultant ensures adequate public library services throughout the state and provides professional consulting services to public and institutional libraries, library boards, and government officials in local communities. The goal is accomplished by collaborating with the Library Development team, other ODL departments, and local community leaders to develop strategies, recommendations, and plans for all facets of library operation. They provide leadership in needs assessment, planning, implementing, managing, and reporting on grant projects funded by the Library Service and Technology Act (LSTA) administered by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).The Library Development Consultant also identifies need for, develops, and provides comprehensive training to public and institutional librarians.
