OICA Logo Color 002 OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA) is assisting Oklahoma Human Services (OHS) with their Holiday Hope program to provide support for foster youth in the state, according to Joe Dorman, OICA’s CEO.

OHS is providing $150 gift cards to foster children caregivers for each foster child. During this campaign, OICA supporters have donated enough to fund 69 of the gift cards, just more than one-third of the cards Human Services needs.

In total, Human Services needs another 22 gift cards and OICA is asking for additional help to meet the full need for cards for Oklahoma’s foster children.

“OICA has created a link for individuals to directly donate to the program,” Dorman said. “This allows us to partner with local banks to fill gift cards which OHS will then deliver to the families.”

“Time is short, and Christmas is just over two weeks away, with little time left to get these cards delivered across the state,” Dorman said. “Please help us help our friends at Human Services meet this need for Holiday Hope, which will put smiles on the faces of Oklahoma’s foster children at a time when they need to feel some joy.”

About OICA: The Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy was established in 1983 by a group of citizens seeking to create a strong advocacy network that would provide a voice for the needs of children and youth in Oklahoma, particularly those in the state’s care and those growing up amid poverty, violence, abuse and neglect, disparities, or other situations that put their lives and future at risk. Our mission statement: “Creating awareness, taking action and changing policy to improve the health, safety, and well-being of Oklahoma’s children.”
