One injured in accident near Wilburton in Latimer County Featured

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a one vehicle accident occurred at approximately 10:02pm on United States Highway 270 at NW 1045th Ave, approximately 5 miles west of Wilburton in Latimer County.

According to the OHP report, a 2006 Honda Pilot, driven by Brandon Wolfe 28, from Wilburton was eastbound on US-270, went left of center, departed roadway to the left and struck a ditch, pinning his Passenger, Georgenia Carrerras 52, from McAlester for approximately 30 minutes before being extricated by Wilburton Fire Department.

Carrerras was transported by Pafford EMS to landing spot in Hartshorne where she was later transported by air ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK. She was listed in stable with trunk internal injuries.

According to the OHP report the Condition of Driver – Driving under the influence, Cause of Collision – DUI, Seat belts were In use for both occupants, Airbags – Deployed, Weather – Clear and dry, Roadway – 2 lane undivided

The accident was Investigated by OHP, Choctaw Nation Tribal Police, Latimer County Sheriff’s Office and Wilburton Fire Department.
