According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at around 6:56 pm, a Ponca City police officer initiated a short pursuit with a white truck driven by Larry Durbin 40.
The pursuit ended when the truck crashed into a fence at the southeast corner of 11th and Ponca.
Durbin exited the vehicle and began firing a handgun at the officer.
The officer returned fire. A passenger of the truck was shot during the exchange of gunfire and is being treated at a local hospital. No officers were injured.
Durbin was taken into custody and a recent mugshot from a previous arrest is attached. The Ponca City Police Chief requested OSBI investigate the incident. Agents are processing the crime scene and interviewing witnesses.
