OSBI Special Agents Investigate Logan Co Deputy Killed in Line of Duty Featured

The Logan County Sheriff has requested Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to help investigate the shooting death of one of a Deputy David James Wade.


Wade, 40,  a Logan County Sheriff's deputy was shot and killed as he was serving an eviction notice on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at 4520 E. County Road 66, Mulhall.


The shooter, Nathan Leforce 45, shot Deputy Wade once in the face and several more times as the deputy fell to the ground.


Deputy Wade fired his weapon at Leforce several times.


Leforce then fled the area in the deputy's truck.


Leforce stopped at a nearby convenience store where he stole a car.


That car was found a short distance away.


Leforce was arrested several hours later in Guthrie.


He was booked into the Logan County jail on a complaint of first degree murder.


OSBI agents are gathering information and evidence from the crime scene.


Once the investigation is complete, agents will provide the district attorney with a comprehensive report.


Wade had worked as a deputy for Logan County for 2 1/2 years.
