NORMAN—American Farmers & Ranchers/Oklahoma Farmers Union (AFR/OFU) held officer and director elections at the 119th Annual AFR State Convention Feb. 23-25. Ryan Plemmons, Battiest, was elected District 4 Southeast Agent Director. He will serve a three-year term.

Plemmons owns Plemmons Insurance Agency in Broken Bow. He has been an AFR Insurance agent for 23 years with a combined 28 years’ experience in the industry. Plemmons served as AFR Cooperative Vice President from 2021 to 2024, has previously served as president of the AFR Agents Association and has chaired the AFR Policy Committee.

Plemmons has served on the Battiest School Board and the McCurtain County Fair Board, chaired the McCurtain County Spring Livestock Board, and currently serves on both the Local 295 and McCurtain County Farmers Union Boards.

Plemmons was raised on a diversified poultry, swine and cattle farm near Battiest. He attended Connors State College and graduated from Oklahoma State University. He has two children, Kaylan and Blaine.

AFR Cooperative is a membership services organization established in 1905 as Oklahoma Farmers Union. AFR provides educational, legislative and cooperative programs across the state and serves as a watchdog for Oklahoma’s family farmers and ranchers and rural communities. The organization is actively supportive of the state’s agricultural industry and rural population with membership consisting of farmers actively involved in production agriculture and non-farmers adding their voice in support of AFR principles.
