The “grabber” of the submersible.
Pontotoc Technology Center recently acquired a custom-built remotely operated submersible, which it will use for underwater technology training.
The tech center applied for a grant to acquire a submersible system in 2025. The submersible’s features include sonar, high-resolution camera systems and a precision grabber arm and can operate in zero-visibility environments.
This advanced submersible is equipped with cutting-edge features including sonar, high-resolution camera systems, and a precision grabber arm. Capable of operating in zero-visibility environments, the system provides critical support for search and recovery missions, significantly enhancing the capabilities of emergency responders.
PTC will use it to provide hands-on training and operational support for emergency management, police and fire departments.
