According to a press release from Greg Russel, Assistant Police Chief with the Poteau Police Department, on 11-18-2018 at approximately 2025 hours, Poteau Police Officers were dispatched to 203 Lacey Lane # 12 in the city limits of Poteau on a call of a shooting.
On arrival, Officers found that Buddy Wayne Wade (54 of Poteau) had been shot through the chest with an arrow and was deceased.
Officers took Joshua Dean Wade (33 of Poteau), and the compound bow believed to have been used, into custody at the scene.
Investigators determined that Joshua rang the doorbell to the apartment two separate times, hiding around the corner after each ring.
On the second ring Buddy answered the door and stepped out onto the porch. Joshua stepped around the corner and shot Buddy with the arrow.
Joshua was booked into the LeFlore County Detention Center on a charge of 1st Degree Murder.
