On Wednesday, March 14, 2018, a Pottawatomie County jury convicted a woman of 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

According to a press release from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the jury recommended 10 years on nine counts and 20 years on one count for 37 year-old Kimberly Ann Smith-Gentile.

The case stems from an OSBI Internet Crimes Against Children investigation that originated in Kansas in 2016. There, Jaymes Dean was charged with sexual abuse of more than a dozen children.

A Kansas jury sentenced him to four life sentences plus 129 years.

Smith-Gentile was charged because she knowingly possessed the phones with the illegal images taken by Dean for six months without notifying authorities.

A judge will formally sentence her May 31, 2018.
