Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troop S (Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement) troopers will join with the organization, Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT), on Wednesday, January 15, to educate motorists on the issue of human trafficking.
Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) is a nonprofit organization that trains truck drivers to recognize and report instances of human trafficking. This collaboration aims to equip OHP troopers, professional truck drivers, and the general public with the knowledge and tools necessary to recognize and report human trafficking incidents on Oklahoma’s highways. As one of the largest transportation networks in the country, Oklahoma’s highways are critical corridors for trafficking activities. By joining forces with Truckers Against Trafficking, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is taking a proactive stance to combat this serious issue.
“We are honored to partner with Truckers Against Trafficking in the fight against human trafficking,” said Captain Brian Orr, commander of Troop S. “By providing training and resources to our troopers, truck drivers, and the public, we can help identify signs of trafficking and take the necessary steps to rescue victims and bring traffickers to justice.”
As part of this collaboration, troopers and members of TAT will be distributing educational materials at the Flying J Truck Stop at 701 S. Morgan Road in Oklahoma City. The media is invited to the event and to speak with troopers, truckers, and members of TAT about the issue of human trafficking.
