OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Tim Turner, R-Kinta, today responded to the shooting of a police officer from Webbers Falls during a traffic stop over the weekend.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol  on Sunday issued a blue alert for the Muskogee County area saying law enforcement were looking for Billy Wayne Williams who was accused of shooting a police officer in Webbers Falls in Muskogee County.

Williams was arrested this morning in Grants, New Mexico.

“As a former law enforcement officer and the current representative for House District 15, which includes Webbers Falls, I had the honor of visiting the officer who was shot during a traffic stop,” Turner said. “Her resilience is inspiring. She’s in great spirits and is expected to make a full recovery.

“Thank you to law enforcement and others across the United States for being vigilant and helping use networking and technology like license plate readers to catch this person who is accused of shooting a police officer

“The hard work that our local, state and federal partners do to catch this man is courageous and commendable. As the state legislator from this area, I always will do everything in my power and request any help necessary to help catch anyone accused of such a terrible act.”

 

Rep. Tim Turner, a Republican, represents House District 15 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes Haskell County and portions of McIntosh, Muskogee, Le Flore and Pittsburg counties.
