According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, two children were injured when the vehicle they were riding in hydroplaned, departed the roadway and traveled backwards and struck a tree.

The accident occurred on Monday, July 30, 2018 on United State Highway 270, approximately 7 miles West of McAlester, OK in Pittsburg County.

 

According to the report a 2002 Toyota driven by Alicia Pope, 29, from McAlester was transported by private owned vehicle to McAlester Regional Hospital where she was treated and released.

 

A passenger, a Juvenile male, age 7, from McAlester was transported by Pafford EMS to McAlester Regional Hospital and he was admitted in stable condition with neck and leg injuries.

 

Another passenger, a Juvenile female, age 6, from McAlester was transported by Pafford EMS to McAlester Regional Hospital, then transported to St. Francis Children’s Hospital in Tulsa. She was admitted in critical condition with head and internal injuries.

 

The accident was Investigated by Trooper OHP and Pafford EMS.
