Two injured in Madill after driver falls asleep at the wheel Featured

On July 11, 2017 at approximately 8:00 am the Oklahoma Highway Patrol were called to the scene of a one vehicle accident that occurred on United States Highway 377, half mile south of Linn Rd, 1 mile north of Madill, in Marshall County, Oklahoma.


The accident occurred when a 2012 Chevrolet Impala driven by Tosha Billy, 30 of Sulphur was northbound on US377and fell asleep. The vehicle left roadway to the right and struck a concrete culvert. The vehicle overturned one half time.


A passenger with Billy, - Traci Cates, 39 of Sulphur, was extricated by Madill Fire Department and air lifted to Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas. She was admitted in serious condition with leg and head injury.


Passenger – Jacob Edwards, 22, of Sulphur, was air lifted by Air-Evac to Plano Medical Center in Plano, Texas and was admitted in serious condition with trunk internal injuries.


According to the OHP report, the condition of the driver was - Driving under influence.

And the cause of collision - Asleep at wheel.


The accident was investigated by OHP, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Tishomingo Fire Department, Madill Fire Department and Marshall County EMS.
