(STILLWATER, Okla., May 1, 2026) — On April 30, U.S. Farm Report filmed its College Roadshow broadcast from Oklahoma State University in front of Agricultural Hall.
The live taping allowed for students, faculty, staff and fans to participate in the event, with students getting creative and hand-designing signs to be held in the background of the shoot. The program will air on KFOR Channel 4 at 5 a.m. Saturday and KAUT Channel 24 and KJRH Channel 2 at 5 a.m. Sunday. It will also be available on the U.S. Farm Report’s YouTube channel after.
Guests included OSU President Jim Hess and Jayson Lusk, vice president and dean of OSU Agriculture. Hess spoke about OSU Agriculture’s importance to the university and the state, highlighting the new Agricultural Hall as the front door for OSU Extension, OSU Ag Research and the Ferguson College of Agriculture.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase the incredible work happening every day across OSU Agriculture,” Dr. Hess said. “We are proud of our students, faculty, staff and Extension educators who advance agriculture in ways that make a real difference for producers and rural communities while carrying out our land-grant mission. When that work is shared on a national stage, it highlights the real impact we’re making for producers and communities across Oklahoma and beyond.”
Dr. Lusk spoke on several key topics related to OSU Agriculture, discussing two new wheat varieties that were announced this year and OSU’s latest turfgrass variety, Endarra 81. He also touched on the Beef Center of Excellence, a cross-disciplinary hub designed to unite experts across the beef supply chain, as well as the recent $40 million investment for the Agronomy Discovery Center.
“We’re thrilled to welcome U.S. Farm Report to Oklahoma State University for its College Roadshow,” Lusk said. “For the past three years, our team has been working to bring this opportunity to OSU because we believe our students, faculty and alumni have an important story to tell about the future of agriculture. Having U.S. Farm Report on campus is a testament to the national impact of the work happening here every day.”
Additionally, Dr. Amy Hagerman, OSU Extension agricultural and food policy specialist, and Dr. Derrell Peel, Charles Breedlove Professor in Agribusiness and OSU Extension livestock marketing specialist, sat down with award-winning host Tyne Morgan to discuss current agricultural topics, including cattle markets, the Farm Bill and New World screwworm.
Segments featuring Dr. Todd Hubbs, OSU Extension crop marketing specialist, Dr. Brett Carver, Regents professor and wheat genetics chair; Clay Burtrum, OSU alumnus; Dr. Shannon Ferrell, agricultural economics professor; Dr. Mari Chinn, biosystems and agricultural engineering department head; Dr. Kevin Moore, biosystems and agricultural engineering assistant professor, Gary McManus, state climatologist for the Mesonet, and Tatumn Kennedy, Ferguson College of Agriculture 2026 Louis and Betty Gardner Outstanding Senior, will also air during the show.
U.S. Farm Report first began airing on television in 1975, and today, more than 150 stations broadcast the show across the country. Typically, the show makes campus visits in the fall, but OSU marks its first spring stop, Morgan said.
“This was a very special visit to Oklahoma State University,” Morgan said. “We travel to a lot of universities, and it is refreshing to see agriculture and the land-grant mission be celebrated in such a big way at OSU. For us to be able to showcase that on a national stage has been an amazing experience.”
