According to a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Wilburton man was injured in a one vehicle accident that occurred on May 7, 2018 at approximately 10:30 pm on 104th Road and Bambeck Lane in Latimer County.
According to the report, a 2005 Lincoln driven by Anthony Cooper, 57, of Wilburton was traveling westbound on CR NW 104th Road when he hit an armadillo in the roadway, ran off the left side of the roadway and struck several trees.
Cooper was pinned for unknown amount of time and was freed by his passengers in the vehicle, Barnum Pierce, 31 of Wilburton and Barnum Edward Forwoodson, 18 of Wilburton, they where not injured.
Cooper was transported to Wilburton Hospital transferred by Air Evac to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa and was listed in stable condition with leg injury.
The accident was investigated by OHP, Latimer County Sheriff’s office, Wilburton Police and Wilburton Fire departments.
