Do you have a favorite recipe? Maybe your grandmother passed down a special recipe that everyone just loves?
Well, get that recipe out and make a dish of it and enter the LeFlore County Historical Society Taste of LeFlore County Banquet.
The process is simple. We aren’t asking you to cater the whole meal, just make a dish of your favorite recipe for people to sample. Churches, individuals, non-profits, and businesses can all participate in this event that is sure to get your taste buds working. More details will be available soon, but Taste of LeFlore is an Outdoor Banquet, which features foods from LeFlore County, entertainment, and some good fellowship.
So, if you have a good entrée, salad, soup, chili, casserole, dessert, salsa, appetizer, maybe you have a good Iced Tea recipe, punch or even some homemade beer, bring it and let others taste a sampling.
The event will commemorate the 100-year Anniversary of the Lowrey Building, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The theme will be a Roaring Twenties theme so dress in period clothing of the year 1922 or just come as you are.
The Monroe Quilters have graciously made a quilt that will be up given away during the event. Quilt donation tickets are $5.00 each or 5 tickets for $20.00.
