
OKLAHOMA CITY – Theresa Maderer was recognized as Nurse of the Day before the Oklahoma House of Representatives on March 28 by Rep. Eddy Dempsey, R-Valliant.
“I am honored to acknowledge Theresa for being a superhero in our healthcare industry,” Dempsey said. “All nurses deserve a round of applause for tirelessly working to serve others.”
Maderer has worked as a nurse for the past 28 years. Her employment spans working in physician’s offices, Carl Albert Mental Health Clinic in Idabel, hospitals, and long-term care settings. Many of her hospital settings have consisted of working by traveling to other states and expanding her knowledge.
She went to Iraq in 2007 and worked in health, safety and environmental. After returning to the United States, Theresa entered the EMT Class in Idabel to learn the trauma part of the medical field. She passed National Registry and received her EMT Basic. Maderer’s daughter is also a nurse serving the Broken Bow schools.
- Dempsey, a Republican, is in his second term representing House District 1. His district includes McCurtain County and southern Le Flore County.
