Trash-Off Day Poster contest announced for PUES 4TH Graders Featured

Keeping Poteau a Beautiful Place


Poteau, OK - For 10 years the Poteau Chamber of Commerce has sponsored a Trash-Off Poster Contest, the contest is in conjunction with the city-wide trash-off day which will be held on Saturday April 22, 2017.


The Karen Wages, CEO of the Poteau Chamber, Aaron Emberton and Vike Albert visited 4th grade elementary students at the Poteau Upper Elementary School to discuss litter and its prevention.


“Each year there is certain criteria and theme the 4th graders must meet,” said Karen Wages. The 4th grade students are asked to create a poster that will help inform others of picking up their trash and "Keeping Poteau a Beautiful Place.”


The top 10 posters are selected with the Top 5 winners receiving a gift card from Wal-Mart.


Winners will be announced on April 20, 2017 and Poteau Trash-Off Day is April 22, 2017.
