Press release

On March 26, two CASC students were recognized at the Oklahoma Association of Community Colleges Student Recognition Ceremony at the state capitol in Oklahoma City.

The All-Oklahoma Academic Team Program provides statewide recognition to outstanding two-year college students.

To be eligible, students must be nominated by their college president to the All-USA Academic Team. Nominees must be eligible to graduate during the 2018-2019 academic year and retain a cumulative grade-point-average of at least 3.5.

CASC is proud to have Connie Fines represent the institution and receive this honor. Connie Fines of Heavener, Okla. serves as CASC’s president of the Alpha Delta Lambda Chapter. She is set to graduate from CASC this spring with an Associate of Arts: Sociology/Psychology Degree. She has been named to the President’s Honor Roll and the All-Oklahoma USA Academic Team.

Fines was not the only CASC student to be recognized at the Okla. Association of Community College’s annual ceremony.

D’Karre Lynch awarded the OACC President’s Tuition Waiver Award. The OACC President’s Tuition Waiver is a $1,000 waiver awarded to deserving students to be applied towards their tuition for the upcoming academic year. Recipients are selected for their outstanding academic achievements, their record in the classroom and their leadership abilities.

D’Karre Lynch of Spiro, Okla. is a sophomore majoring in Allied Health and is set to graduate in May. Lynch has been accepted into the CASC Physical Therapist Assistant Program and plans to continue his education at CASC in the fall.

“CASC is home to the best and brightest students in Oklahoma,” said CASC President Dr. Jay Falkner, “and we are thrilled to recognize Connie and D’Karre for their outstanding achievements as CASC students.”
