According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, a Wister woman and a Pocola man were injured in a automobile accident that occurred on June 29, 2018 at approximately 7:50 am on State Highway 112, approximately 1 mile south of Pocola in LeFlore County.
According to the report, a 2017 Nissan SUV, driven by Lorrie Medlock, 55, from Wister was traveling southbound on SH 112 and Juan Cartagena, 39, from Pocola, driving a 1994 Nissan pickup was traveling northbound when Medlock made a left turn in front of the pickup striking it head on.
Medlock was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Mercy Hospital in Ft Smith and was listed in stable condition with a leg injury.
Cartagena was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Mercy Hospital in Ft Smith and treated and released with a head injury.
The accident was investigated by OHP and the LeFlore County Sheriff’s office.
