According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, two teens were injured in an accident that occurred on June 8, 2023 at 7:39 pm.

The accident happened on Midway Rd approximately 1 mile south of Nail Creek Rd in LeFlore County.

According to the report, a Polaris RZR, driven by a 16 year old male from Poteau, and his 16 year old passenger from Poteau, were traveling southbound on Midway Road and a 2019 Ford F250 driven by a 16 year old male from Poteau was also traveling southbound on Midway Rd. The Ford truck attempted to pass Polaris, at the same time the Polaris attempted to make a left turn. The truck hit the Polaris. Both vehicles departed the roadway to the left, and the Polaris overturned onto its side.

The driver of the Polaris was transported by air to St. Francis of Tulsa with head injuries. Admitted in stable condition.

His passenger on the Polaris was transported by LeFlore County EMS to Mercy Hospital in Ft. Smith and was listed in stable condition with internal trunk and head injuries. He was treated and released.

The driver of the Ford F250 was not injured.

The accident was investigated by OHP, the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office, Monroe Fire Department, and LeFlore County EMS.
