Ice and rain in the forecast for Monday, let’s talk about it.
Tonight temps will fall to around 16°F as a cold front begins to push through the area. This will also bring Gusty winds to around 30MPH. So secure that loose lawn furniture or it may blow away. Friday we are back to being cold and below freezing with highs around 28°F, but at least we will see sunshine!
Ice and rain-
The latest indications of ice are not going away, and in fact are rising in potential daily. The National Weather Service in Little Rock is showing a glaze in the area which can still cause travel impacts.
So here is the rundown. Thursday through Friday a weak system will pass overhead, but drop precipitation in east Arkansas and Mississippi so on away from here. Saturday the Arctic air is here, therefore making temperatures extremely cold once again, brrrr. But what we have been waiting for is Monday, there will be a low pressure system that comes in behind and under this cold air mass, which will bring precipitation that will freeze as it makes contact with the ground, trees, so on. We are expecting to see around a inch of rain, so therefore I’m expecting to see more then a glaze of ice, but hopefully I’m wrong.
No bread and milk warning yet, but be prepared y’all. Stay warm, and enjoy today, I’m Brandon Alexander.
