Good afternoon everyone! We finally have a break from the snow and ice, hopefully for a long while. Let’s talk about the conditions now, roads are clear but we are getting rainfall across leflore county. This rainfall has caused the Poteau River to become elevated to near the bank tops with more still possible through Saturday.
Today, thunderstorms may be possible across the area, mostly in SE Oklahoma and Arkansas. This may provide sleet pellets as the atmosphere is still cold but not cold enough for a winter weather impact. The reason it would not be hail is because hail requires a storm to have a updraft. Some small storms may occur tomorrow as well, no big deal.
Tonight temperatures will be around 42°F with a 80% chance of rain. Tomorrow’s high temperature to be around 54°F and a 20% chance of rain.
