Congratulations to Bryce Weldon, silver medalist in the 2018 State SkillsUSA Electrical Motor Controls competition. He received over $500 worth of tools. Weldon is a senior at Poteau High School and attends Electrical Technology at the Kiamichi Technology Center in Poteau. Michael Newnam is the Electrical Technology instructor at KTC’s Poteau Campus.
Kiamichi Technology Centers has been an integral part of the communities in southeastern Oklahoma since 1968, serving ten full counties and parts of three other counties. KTC is part of the Oklahoma CareerTech system and is one of 29 districts within the state. KTC has more than 30 career programs, and offers a wide variety of evening and weekend short-term courses as well as certifications in many diverse career fields.
KTC serves nearly 23,000 individuals each year, including many area companies who receive training through the Business and Industry Services Division that works with over 400 businesses each year.
