NORTHEAST

Grand: August 23. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 87°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, plastic baits, and spinnerbaits around brush structure, docks, and shorelines. White bass good on in-line spinnerbaits, jigs, and spoons below the dam, main lake, and points. Blue catfish fair on cut bait and shad below the dam, docks, and main lake. Report submitted by Riley Willman, game warden stationed in Delaware County.

Kaw: August 24. Elevation is 1 ft. below normal and falling, water temperature 92°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth and spotted bass good on crankbaits, jigs, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures around brush structure, points, riprap, and shorelines. Striped bass hybrids and white bass good on crankbaits, lipless baits, live bait, live shad, and spoons below the dam, points, and riprap. Paddlefish excellent snagging below the dam. Report submitted by Spencer Grace, game warden stationed in Kay County.

Keystone: August 24. Elevation is 2 ft. above normal and stable, water temperature 81°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth bass good on plastic baits around brush structure. Blue and channel catfish good on cut bait, live bait, live shad, and shad around dam and main lake. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around brush structure. Report submitted by Tracer Wagner, game warden stationed in Creek County.

Lower Illinois River: August 21. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 72°F and clear. Rainbow trout fair on caddis flies, in-line spinnerbaits, midges, nymphs, PowerBait, and worms below the dam, shallows, and shorelines. Comments: Warmer water conditions and low oxygen levels are making catching trout little more challenging. Report submitted by Jerry Henry, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

Spavinaw: August 23. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 79°F and stained. (USGS Lake Level) Largemouth and smallmouth bass fair on crankbaits, jigs, and plastic baits around main lake and points. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around brush structure and docks. Channel catfish slow on cut bait around flats and main lake. Report submitted by Kody Moore, game warden stationed in Mayes County.

SOUTHEAST

Blue River: August 24. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 84°F and clear. (USGS Lake Level) Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass good on buzz baits, crankbaits, jerk baits, jigs, lipless baits, plastic baits, topwater lures, and tube jigs around brush structure, channels, creek channels, points, river channel, rocks, shorelines, and weed beds. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver, dough bait, stinkbait, and worms. Report submitted by Ethan Lovelace, biologist at the Blue River Public Fishing and Hunting Area.

Broken Bow: August 21. Elevation is 5.5 ft. below normal and falling, water temperature 85°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures around coves and points. Crappie fair on jigs around points and standing timber. Channel catfish good on cut bait and worms around coves and creek channels. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Hugo: August 21. Elevation is 2 ft. below normal and stable, water temperature 85°F and murky. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth, spotted, and white bass fair on crankbaits, jigs, plastic baits, and topwater lures around brush structure, channels, points, and standing timber. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish good on cut bait, live bait, and stinkbait around brush structure, channels, and river mouth. Crappie slow on jigs, minnows, and small lures around brush structure, channels, and standing timber. Report submitted by Chance Phillips, game warden stationed in Choctaw County.

Konawa: August 23. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 90°F and clear. Largemouth bass good on crankbaits, plastic baits, and topwater lures around main lake, points, river channel, and weed beds. Striped bass hybrids and white bass good on Alabama rigs, crankbaits, live shad around coves, inlet, main lake, and river channel. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, and shrimp around inlet, riprap, rocks, and weed beds. Report submitted by Garret Harley, game warden stationed in Seminole County.

Lower Mountain Fork River: August 21. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 68°F and clear. Rainbow trout good on crickets, grasshoppers, PowerBait, tube jigs, and worms around creek channels, dam, river channel, and spillway. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

McGee Creek: August 21. Elevation is 1 ft. below normal and falling, water temperature 85°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth and spotted bass slow on Alabama rigs, bill baits, jigs, minnows, and plastic baits around brush structure, main lake, points, riprap, and rocks. Crappie fair on minnows, small lures, and tube jigs around brush structure, main lake, and standing timber. Channel and flathead catfish slow on chicken liver, cut bait, sunfish, and worms around channels, docks, main lake, riprap, and rocks. Report submitted by Shay Loudermilk, game warden stationed in Atoka County.

Pine Creek: August 24. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 85°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth bass slow on plastic baits, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures around brush structure and coves. Crappie fair on jigs and minnows around brush structure and main lake. Report submitted by Eric Barnes, game warden stationed in Pushmataha County.

Sardis: August 21. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 92°F and stained. (USACE Lake Level) Largemouth bass fair on bill baits, buzz baits, crankbaits, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits, and topwater lures around brush structure, channels, points, shorelines, and standing timber. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, cut bait, hot dogs, shad, sunfish, and worms around brush structure, channels, main lake, points, and standing timber. Texoma: August 21. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 86°F and clear. (USACE Lake Level) Striped bass good on live shad, sassy shad, and slabs around channels, main lake, and river channel. Blue, channel, and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, dough bait, live shad, punch bait, and stinkbait below the dam, coves, docks, river channel, and river mouth. Crappie fair on caddis flies, hair jigs, jigs, minnows, and nymphs around brush structure, docks, points, and standing timber. Comments: Fishing this week has been about the same. With the extreme heat, it’s been tough; beneficial to get on fish early. Striper are being caught on live shad, trolling sassy shad and slabs. Catfish are being caught on punch bait around baited holes and cleaning stations. Wister: August 21. Elevation is normal and stable, water temperature 94°F and stained.
