Applications are open for the Oklahoma Habitat Enhancement Partnership! In this program, ODWC works with municipalities and partners to enhance local fishing opportunities. Our habitat team will work with three selected partners to place fishing structures and connect with matching funds. Through this program, $25,000 has been invested in the of habitat in 5 lakes across Oklahoma in the past 2 years. Rainbow trout slow on caddis flies, midges, nymphs, PowerBait, small lures and spoons below the dam, shallows and shorelines. (USGS Lake Level) Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass good on buzz baits, flukes, jigs, lipless baits, plastic baits, spinnerbaits, topwater lures and tube jigs around brush structure, channels, points, river channel, rocks, shallows, shorelines and weed beds. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, stinkbait and worms around brush structure, channels, creek channels and rocks. Texoma: Sep. 6. Elevation is 1 ft. below normal and stable, water temperature 86°F and clear. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on cut bait, dough bait, live shad, punch bait, stinkbait and sunfish below the dam, channels, coves, docks, points and river mouth. Crappie good on hair jigs, jigs, minnows and nymphs around brush structure, coves, docks and standing timber. Comments: Fishing this week has been tough for striper. The bite has been slow due, pretty much slows way down after 10 am. Striper are biting on live shad, trolling Alabama rigs and using slabs. There is also some topwater action around Washita Point at daylight. Catfish are biting on punch bait around baited holes pretty well.
