Southcentral Region crew was on Arbuckle Lake last week to perform a bass sampling survey.  These nice bass were weighed and measured and released back into the lake.  The largest bass weighed 8.6 pounds and the other three bass were in the 6.5 pound range. Southcentral Region crew was on Arbuckle Lake last week to perform a bass sampling survey. SOUTHEAST

 

Arbuckle: April 23. Elevation is above average. Water is 64 and stained to clear. Bass are good on crankbaits and swimbaits around brush structure, coves and weed beds. Crappie are excellent on jigs and minnows around brush structure and docks. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

 

Blue River: April 18. Elevation normal. Water is 64 and murky. Bass are fair on crankbaits, jerk bait, and spinner baits around brush structure, points and rocks. Channel catfish are good on cut bait and stinkbait on rocks and sand bars. Report submitted by Matt Gamble.

 

Broken Bow: April 23. Elevation below average. Bass good on buzz baits, flukes, inline spinnerbait, spinnerbaits. Crappie good on grubs, minnows, tube jigs, and green weenie, electric chicken grub colors near brush structure, flats, riprap, shallows and weed beds. Catfish are good on chicken liver, crawfish, cut bait and worms in the channels and coves.  Report submitted by Dru Polk.

 

Durant: April 18. Elevation normal. Water clear. Bass fair on flukes and plastic baits on brush structure, flats and shallows. Catfish slow on chicken liver, cut bait, punch bait, shrimp and stinkbait in channels and main lake. Report submitted by Michael Ward.

 

Eufaula: April 23. Crappie excellent on jigs and minnows around brush structure, docks and shorelines. Bass good on live shad and minnows below the dam. Catfish good on cut bait and live bait in main lake and river channel. Bass are good on jigs and minnows in brush structure and shorelines. Report submitted by Terry Springwater

Hugo: April 23. Elevation above average. Temp 64. Crappie good on jigs and minnows on brush structure, creek channels and standing timber. Bass are fair on crankbaits, flukes, plastics and spinnerbait along brush structure, coves, and creek channels. Submitted by Jay Harvey.

 

Konawa: April 23. Elevation normal. Water 71 and clear. Largemouth good on crankbaits, lipless baits and plastics on coves, points and shallows. Catfish are good on chicken livers, spoons and worms along coves, shallows and shorelines. Report submitted by Dale Stites.

 

Lower Mountain Fork: April 21. Elevation normal. Water clear. Rainbow trout fairon midges, powerbait, small lures and tube jigs below the dam and creek channels. Stocked approximately 1,120 rainbow trout on April 20. Report submitted by April Drake, secretary at the Southeast Region Office.

 

Murray: April 23. Elevation normal. Water 66 and clear. Bass fair on crankbaits, flukes, jerk bait, plastics, spinnerbaits and tube jigs on brush structure, docks, rocks, shallows, standing timber and weed beds. White bass fair on crankbaits, hair jigs, jigs, minnows and sassy shad in coves, creek channels, main lakes and points. Crappie and sunfish fair on hair jigs, jigs, minnows and tube jigs on brush structure, docks, riprap, rocks, shallows, standing timber and weed beds. Report submitted by Jeremy Brothers.

 

Pine Creek: April 23. Elevation dropping. Water murky. Crappie fair on jigs in shallows.Bass slow on plastics along points. Report submitted by Mark Hannah.

 

Robert S. Kerr: April 23. Elevation normal. Water 65 and muddy. Crappie fair on jigs, minnows and electric chicken jigs at nighttime in coves, shallows and weed beds. Blue catfish excellent on cut bait and shad in river channel and river mouth. Largemouth good on spinnerbaits and Carolina rigged lizards along points and secondary points. Report submitted by J.D. Sardis:Lake elevation is above average and water temps are 72. Bass good on bill baits, buzzbaits, crankbaits, grubs, lipless baits, plastics, spinnerbaits, top water and tube jigs around brush structure, flats, points, riprap, rocks, shorelines and standing timber. Catfish good on cut bait, live shad, shad and sunfish in channels, creek channels, flats, main lake and shoreline. Crappie fair on jigs, live shad, minnows and tube jigs along brush structure, points, rocks, shorelines and standing timber. Texoma: April 24. Elevation below average. Water 67 and muddy. Bass fair on live shad in main lake. Catfish good on cut bait, live bait and live shad in creek channels, river channel and river mouth. Crappie slow on jigs, live bait, plastics, small lures and tube jigs along brush structure and docks. Catfish are good near rivers, crappie are good shallow at some docks. Wister: April 23. Water elevation is rising and temps are 67 and murky. Crappie good on grubs, jigs and minnows along brush structure and shallow.
