EDGEFIELD, S.C. — Did you successfully call in a wild turkey this spring, or have you perfected the art of turkey calling your whole life? Either way, the Talkin’ Turkey Oklahoma State Turkey Calling Contest is the perfect opportunity to strut your stuff. The NWTF-sanctioned event will be held on Sat. July 19. The event begins at 10:00 a.m. and runs until 3:00 p.m.

First-place winners in the Oklahoma Open, Open and Open Friction divisions will qualify for the prestigious Grand National Calling Championships held in Nashville, Tennessee, Feb. 12-14, 2026. If the first-place winner is already qualified for the GNCC, the second-place winner will advance.

Divisions, Entry Fees and Awards

  • Oklahoma Open – Entry Fee: $50, First-Place Award: $500
  • Open – Entry Fee: $50, First-Place Award: $500
  • Open Friction – Entry Fee: $50, First-Place Award: $500
  • Amateur/Hunter – Entry Fee: $25, First-Place Award: $200
  • Juniors/JAKES (17 and under) – Entry Fee: $0, First-Place Award: $100
  • Owl – Entry Fee: $0, First-Place Award: $100
  • Gobbling – Entry Fee: $0, First-Place Award: $100

Payment is required for the highest entry fee, and then additional entry fees are 50% off. All entrants must be a current NWTF member to compete, or entrants can purchase an NWTF membership at registration. Payment will be due at the door on the day of the contest. Registrations must be completed by Monday, July 14.
