This week, House Republicans passed several bills that take on the rising threat of China and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). China represents America’s greatest foreign threat, and these bills send a message to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that they can no longer take advantage of the American taxpayer. I voted in favor of the following:

  • HR 1425, No WHO Pandemic Pren the rising threat of China and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). China represents America’s greatest foreign threat, and these bills send a message to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) that they can no longer take advantage ofparedness Treaty Without Senate Approval Act, which ensures that any World Health Organization (WHO) pandemic agreement that affects the U.S. must first be ratified by the Senate, as is required by the Constitution.
  • HR 9456, Protecting American Agriculture from Foreign Adversaries Act, which allows the Department of Agriculture to review and potentially block purchases of farmland by foreign adversaries from China.
  • H.R. 1516, DHS Restrictions on Confucius Institutes and Chinese Entities of Concern Act, which prohibits our tax dollars from going to American universities that host a Confucius Institute or maintain relationships with the CCP.
  • H.R. 1398, Protect America’s Innovation and Economic Security from CCP Act of 2024, which would establish a CCP Initiative (CCP-I) inside the National Security Division of the DOJ with a specific focus on countering economic threats from the Chinese Communist Party.
  • H.R. 7980, End Chinese Dominance of Electric Vehicles in America Act of 2024, which amends the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to exclude vehicles with batteries that contain materials sourced from foreign entities of concern from the clean vehicle credit, requires the Treasury Department to follow the same definition of FEOC as the Commerce Department, closes the ‘Chinese Billionaire Loophole’ and the ‘Chinese Manufacturing Loophole,’ and expands FEOC limitations.

Never Forget

This week, I join my fellow Americans across the country in solemnly remembering and honoring the nearly 3,000 innocent men and women who were killed twenty-three years ago in a cowardly terrorist attack that changed our nation forever. I pray for the families who lost loved ones and I hope they have been able to find peace. We also honor the thousands of police officers, first responders, and members of our military who answered the call to serve. We will never forget their courage and sacrifice.

Congressman Brecheen Wraps Up 106 Town Halls in First Term

We believe that live, in-person town halls are valuable in order to be held accountable to our constituents and to make ourselves available to those who cannot make it to D.C. It has been an honor traveling across the district and hearing personal stories from constituents, receiving feedback, and taking in new ideas for legislation. I am proud to say we held an in-person town hall in every county in Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District in both 2023 and so far in 2024. Constituents are encouraged to follow our official Facebook page and sign up for our newsletter to hear about future in-person town halls.

Congressman Brecheen Participates in Hearing on CBO and J6 Prisoners

This week, I participated in a House Budget Committee hearing on ways to improve the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) and ensure that it remains nonpartisan. You can watch a clip of my remarks here.

I also participated in a hearing on the treatment of J6 prisoners and followed it up with my second visit to the D.C. detention center. Justice alone must prevail, and be blind to political ideology. You can watch the full hearing here.
