OKLAHOMA CITY – Former House Page Kaegan Clark, of Duncan, and two of his nieces, Kambi Barkston, of Spiro, and Gracie Jaramillo, of Duncan, visited Rep. Rick West, R-Heavener, at the State Capitol during the final week of the regular legislative session.

Clark, who is originally from Poteau, paged for West in 2018 when he was a senior at Poteau High School. He has since graduated from the University of Oklahoma and is currently studying law at OU.

“It was great to have Kaegan and his nieces come by my office at the Capitol,” West said. “I always love it when people from home visit me at the Legislature. It’s a good way to stay connected to my constituency and hear their concerns. And to have a former page visit and see he’s doing so well, well that’s just about the best there is.”

The House runs a page program each year for high school juniors and seniors. Pages typically apply to serve in the office of their area representative. During the week they serve, they run messages to legislators while they are in the chamber debating policy and voting on measures. Pages also participate in a mock session, in which they learn legislative procedure and how to write legislation.

Rick West serves District 3 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes part of LeFlore County.
