OKLAHOMA CITY – As summer ends, lawmakers officially begin analyzing issues of concern and planning policy proposals for 2027. These “interim studies” allow legislative committees to conduct hearings on proposed issues at the State Capitol between sessions.
Here are some of those studies we at the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA) feel are among the most critical. The list includes the study numbers, topics considered, the lawmakers who requested the studies, and committees that will consider them.
Studies being conducted by the House of Representatives include:
• 26-015 Methods of Dealing with Continued Delays in the Chain of Custody and Testing of Sexual Assault Kits and Storage of Non-Reported Kits – Requestors: Roe, Provenzano. Committee: Public Health.
