OKLAHOMA CITY – House Democratic Leader Cyndi Munson, D-Oklahoma City, was ranked number three out of 50 most influential young professionals by Oklahoma City Young Professionals at the 2024 Leadership Now luncheon on May 8, 2024.

The top 10 winners were nominated by their peers for their leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment to excellence that has left a profound influence on their community.

“I am deeply grateful to be recognized in the top ten of OKCYP’s most influential young professionals of Oklahoma City,” Leader Munson said. “OKCYP is a wonderful group of leaders, and I am thrilled to be honored alongside 49 incredible Oklahomans with a passion for making Oklahoma a place where everyone wants to live.”

Leader Munson is a graduate of Youth Leadership Oklahoma Class III, Leadership Oklahoma City’s LOYAL Class VIII, and Leadership Oklahoma Class 31. She is a member of Rotary Club of Oklahoma City, Club 29 – one of the largest clubs in Rotary International. In 2019, she was selected to participate in the Council of State Governments Henry Toll Fellowship Program, one of the nation’s premiere leadership development programs for state government officials. She serves on the Board of Directors for the Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee, the official party committee dedicated to electing Democrats to statehouses.

Elected in September of 2015, she became the first Asian-American woman elected to the Oklahoma Legislature. In May of 2021, she was elected by her Democratic colleagues as the House Democratic Leader for the 59th Legislature and in 2023, re-elected as House Democratic Leader for the 60th Legislature. She primarily focuses on issues pertaining to children, women, working families, public education, criminal and juvenile justice reform, election and voter reform, and Alzheimer’s.
