Rep. Jim Grego with House page Memphis Anderson

OKLAHOMA CITY – Memphis Anderson, a junior at Wilburton High School paged for Rep. Jim Grego from April 14-17, at the State Capitol.

Memphis is the son of Natia and Josh Anderson. He received a 31 composite ACT score and is in speech,  choir and band. He’s a drum major in marching band and has made state in choir and speech all three years of high school.

After graduation, he plans to attend the University of Central Oklahoma to major in business and minor in music. He hopes to own his own business and may consider going into government service.

During their four days of service at the House, pages run messages to representatives while they are in the chamber debating policy and voting on measures, and they help in the legislator’s Capitol office. Pages also participate in a mock session, in which they learn legislative procedure and how to write and debate legislation.

“It was great to work with Memphis this week and show him a little about state government,” Grego said. “I hope this experience sparked an interest in potential public service for him. Whatever he chooses, I know he’ll do well.”

Jim Grego serves District 17 in the Oklahoma House of Representatives. His district includes Latimer County and part and Pittsburg County.
