WASHINGTON—Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) released the following statement after the passage of the House Amendment to the Senate Amendment to H.R. 695, Further Additional Continuing Appropriations Act, 2019. The funding bill passed out of the House by a vote of 217 – 185.
“The crisis we face at our southern border is a national security issue,” said Mullin. “Nancy Pelosi Democrats have decided that keeping our borders open is more important than keeping the American people safe and our government open. I support this funding bill because it fully funds President Trump’s $5 billion request for border security. The national security of our country can’t wait any longer.
“The House has done its job to make America safer,” stated Mullin. “Now it’s up to the Senate.”
