WASHINGTON—Congressman Markwayne Mullin (OK-2) released the following statement after the House failed to overturn President Trump’s veto of the disapproval of his emergency declaration on the crisis at our southern border.
“It is outrageous the Pelosi Democrats in the House want to keep the President of the United States from doing his job,” said Mullin. “His emergency declaration is lawful, truthful, and most importantly—necessary. I voted to stand with President Trump because the security of American citizens and the integrity of our country will always be my utmost priority. House Democrats need to give up this charade.”
In February, Mullin voted against H.J. Res. 46, a bill to terminate the national emergency declaration made by President Trump.
