OKLAHOMA CITY – Senator Christi Gillespie (R-Broken Arrow) announced the successful passage of Senate Bill 745, which extends the age limit for high school completion from 26 to 30 years. The bill now heads to the Governor’s desk.

“Education is a lifelong journey, and SB 745 ensures that more Oklahomans have the opportunity to complete their high school education, regardless of age,” said Senator Gillespie. “By extending the age limit, we are opening doors for individuals to achieve personal and professional growth.”

Key Provisions of SB 745:

  • Extends the eligibility age for high school completion from 26 to 30 years.
  • Requires individuals aged 21 to 30 to complete their education through full-time virtual programs offered by their school districts.
  • Excludes these individuals from being counted in school A-F report cards and chronic absenteeism data.

The legislation passed with strong bipartisan support, reflecting a shared commitment to educational accessibility.
