OKLAHOMA CITY – Averie Bain, Valliant High School junior, and Carli LeFroce, Battiest High School junior, served as pages for Rep. Eddy Dempsey, R-Valliant, at the Oklahoma State Capitol March 5 – 9 during the first session of the 59th Legislature.

Bain is involved in varsity cheerleading and FFA. She is a National Honor Society Member and on the Superintendent’s Honor Roll. Bain plans to continue her education at a university but is decided on which one she plans to attend.

Leforce participates in FFA, basketball, and track and cross country. Her academic achievements include the A-Honor roll, National Honor Society, and covaledictorian. Leforce plans to major in pre-med and hopes to become a dermatologist.

“It was great to host Averie and Carli as pages this past week,” Dempsey said. “They are both hard-working individuals, and I hope both of them remain informed and civically-engaged citizens throughout their life.”

Pages are assigned for one week, Monday through Thursday, during session from the first Monday in February until the last Friday in May. The students work in the House Chamber during daily session, run errands for representatives and staff, and participate in the House Page Mock Legislature on the floor of the House Chamber.

Dempsey, a Republican, is in his second term representing House District 1. His district includes McCurtain County and southern Le Flore County.
