Rep. Dempsey and Abigaile Dansby

OKLAHOMA CITY – Rep. Eddy Dempsey, R-Valliant, welcomed Abigaile Dansby, a senior at Valliant High School, to the Oklahoma State Capitol this session as part of the Oklahoma House of Representatives High School Page Program.

Dansby served as a page during the First Session of the 60th Legislature, where she observed the legislative process up close and gained firsthand experience in state government.

“It was a pleasure to have Abigaile at the Capitol,” Dempsey said. “She is a focused, hardworking student, and it’s always encouraging to see young people take an interest in how our state government works.”

Dansby, the daughter of Gina and Chad Dansby, is an active member of her school and community. She currently serves as president of the Valliant FFA chapter, where she has helped organize and lead local initiatives. She describes strong leadership as being honest, confident, organized and empathetic, traits she brings to her academic and extracurricular life.

She plans to attend Northeastern State University this fall to study speech-language pathology and later pursue a master’s degree in the field.

“Abigaile is a great example of the kind of leadership and service we see coming out of rural Oklahoma,” Dempsey said. “I’m proud to have her represent Valliant at the Capitol and look forward to seeing all she accomplishes in the years ahead.”

The Oklahoma House of Representatives High School Page Program allows students to assist legislators and staff, attend committee meetings and participate in a mock legislative session during their week of service.
