The 3rd Annual Cameron Archery Tournament was held January 12-13 at the new Cameron Arena.

We are very happy with the turnout and appreciate all of the archers, coaches, and fans that attended,” said Hank Austin, Cameron’s archery coach.

The team winners by division were…

Middle School

2nd – Cameron

3rd – Charleston (AR)

High School

An estimated 1,600 people attended. The event included a NASP bullseye shoot, 3D fun shoot, drawings, raffles, and new vehicles on display by one of the tournament’s primary sponsors, Harry Robinson Sallisaw Ford. “We want to thank Harry Robinson Sallisaw Ford, Johnson Construction, Killin’ Time Archery, Hugs and Biscuits, Smart-Mart, Six Degrees, Gellco Outdoors, Central National Bank, the Community State Bank, Arvest, Brian Jackson, our 37 target sponsors, individual donors, the Cameron staff, Board, administration, and community for all of their support and hard work in making this year’s tournament a great success,” Austin said. “It takes a lot of people and resources to put on an event of this size over two days.” A list of all sponsors can be seen on the school’s Facebook page and winners are listed at NASPTournaments.org.

The Cameron Yellowjackets are currently ranked 3rd in the middle school division and 5th in the high school division in the state. They’ve already competed in several tournaments this year, bringing home team and individual awards.

Cameron will host the 4th Annual LeFlore County Archery Tournament on Wednesday, January 24th and the public is invited to attend. Fans should contact their school’s archery coach for times. Admission is $5 per person. Children 5 and under, veterans, and first responders are free.
