RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced its fourth Golfer of the Week awards for the spring season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Michelle Carr claimed the Women’s Golfer award and Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Zach James earned the Men’s Golfer honor.
GAC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Michelle Carr, Oklahoma Baptist, So., Alvin, Texas
Carr finished in a tie for fifth place at the Holiday Inn Express MWSU Women's Spring Invitational to match the best performance by a Lady Bison this season. Carr shot rounds of 79 and 81 for a 160 two-round total. She registered her third top-five finish of the season and led Oklahoma Baptist to a tie for second place in the 14-team event.
GAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Zach James, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Jr., Whitesboro, Texas
James picked up his second tournament title of the season and sixth top-five finish of the season after he posted rounds of 2-under par 70 and 4-under 68 at the Lion Invite at Tanglewood Resort for a one-shot victory. The Savage Storm won the event by 12 shots, their second team title of the season.
