SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist was selected to the 2018 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Regional Championships and will compete in the Central Region super regional, the NCAA announced Monday.
The Lady Bison qualified for the postseason event in their first year of eligibility since completing the transition to NCAA Division II.
“We’re really excited about this opportunity to compete at the super regional. The ladies have put a lot of hard work into it and they’re very deserving with the amount of work they have each put forward this season,” said Head Coach Mike Manlapig. “I’m excited to see what we are able to do at the super regional. I know they will play hard and give their best effort, like they have all season.”
The Central Regional is hosted by Lindenwood at Missouri Bluffs Golf Club in Saint Charles, Missouri. Play will last from May 7-9, with one round played each day at the 54-hole event.
Each of the four super regionals around the country will consist of both team and individual competition conducted with 12 teams and six individuals from non-qualifying teams at each site.
The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each super regional will advance to the championships.
