Poteau Special Olympian Caleb Cain has been selected to represent Special Olympics Oklahoma in the 2018 Special Olympic USA Games in Seattle, Washington, July 1-8, 2018. Caleb participates in Powerlifting. Only 4 power lifters from Oklahoma were selected for the USA Games (2 males and 2 females).

Cain will be one of only 36 athletes and partners from Oklahoma making the trip to Seattle next summer. He will continue training this school year for the event.

Special Olympic Team Poteau head coach, Tanna Weaver has this to say about Cain: “Caleb is a great young man that has excelled in various sports. Powerlifting and Flag-Football are his favorites. Caleb started lifting when he was 15 years old and has greatly improved in the last 3 years.”

Weaver went on to say, “As a coach, of any sport, the goal is for the athlete to do everything they need to do to excel in the sport they compete in. Caleb has far exceeded our expectations.”

Cain, who is the son of Denver Brown, will be a senior at Poteau High School this school year.
