RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s Players of the Week awards for the 11th week of the 2018-19 basketball regular season. Henderson State’s Mike Fofana won the Men’s honor and Harding’s Kellie Lampo claiming the Women’s accolade.

 

GAC MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Mike Fofana, Henderson State, F, Jr., Memphis, Tennessee
Fofana continued his stretch of terrific play as Henderson picked up wins against Ouachita and Arkansas Tech. Fofana poured in 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting on the road against the Tigers. He followed up with 20 points – 15 in the second half – and 13 rebounds against the Wonder Boys. He has averaged 18.5 points and 9.0 rebounds during the Reddies’ four-game win streak.

 

GAC WOMEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Kellie Lampo, Harding, F, So., Jessieville, Arkansas
Lampo led the conference in scoring and rebounding for the week as she averaged 24.0 points and 14.0 rebounds against Arkansas Tech and Southern Arkansas. She grabbed a career-high 19 rebounds against the Golden Suns and followed up with a career-high 30-points against the Lady Muleriders. She went 16-for-31 from the field, including 9-for-14 against SAU.

Treyvon Andres, C, Northwestern Oklahoma State (Led the GAC by scoring 25.0 PPG and grabbing 13.0 RPG); DeVante Brooks, F, Southern Arkansas (Helped SAU extend win streak to eight as he averaged 11.0 PPG and 8.0 RPG); Kevin Buckingham, F, Southeastern Oklahoma State (Registered a double-double in win vs SWOSU); Jhonathan Dunn, G, Southern Nazarene (In two wins, averaged 19.0 PPG and went 16-for-32 from the floor); Nick Shoemaker, G, Southwestern Oklahoma State (Became SWOSU’s all-time leader in made 3-point field goals); Kendarious Smith, G, Ouachita (Shot 52.9 percent from the field including 57.1 percent on 3-point tries); Camron Talley, G, East Central (Made a combined 8 3-pointers vs Southeastern and Southern Nazarene); JV Long, G, Harding (Became first Harding player with at least 20 points and 15 rebound in a game since 2012); Antonio Wade, G, Oklahoma Baptist (Posted his second 30-point game as he scored 36 vs Northwestern Oklahoma State)

 

Tyra Aska, G, Southwestern Oklahoma State (Scored 36 on 12-of-18 shooting in win vs Southeastern); Autumn Avina, G, Oklahoma Baptist (Averaged 15.0 points, 10.5 assists and 9.0 rebounds); Adrienne Berry, G, Southern Nazarene (Averaged 16.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in two victories); Alyssa Crase, F, Southern Arkansas (Went 6-for-9 from the field and averaged 7.0 rebounds per game); Eden Crow, G, Ouachita (Shot 52.9 percent from the floor; averaged 12.0 PPG and 8.0 RPG); Hailey Estes, G, Henderson State (Hit 8 3-pointers vs Ouachita; double-double vs Arkansas Tech); Kalea King, G, Northwestern Oklahoma State (Hit game-winning shot vs Oklahoma Baptist); Sam Schwab, F, East Central (Career-high 15 points vs Southeastern; made 10-of-15 shots for the week)
