RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s Golfers of the Week for the fifth week of the fall season. Southwestern Oklahoma State’s Chloe Thackeray garnered the Women’s accolade while Southeastern Oklahoma State’s Zach James scored the Men’s honor.
GAC WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Chloe Thackeray, Southwestern Oklahoma State, Sr., Billericay, England
Thackeray earned the first GAC Golfer of the Week award in her career after she took home medalist honors at the UCO Classic. She carded rounds of 68 and 74 to post a 36-hole hole of even par 142 en route to a three-stroke victory. The Lady Bulldogs placed third at the event.
GAC MEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK – Zach James, Southeastern Oklahoma State, Sr., Whitesboro, Texas
James picked up his third-straight tournament victory as he dominated the field at the Newman Fall Invitational. He finished seven strokes clear of his closest competitor, teammate Hayden Foster. For the second time this season, he posted three rounds in the 60s as he shot 10-under par for the week. He fired the low individual score for each of the three rounds.
