RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference announced the league’s second GAC Women’s Soccer Player of the Week awards of the 2021 season. Oklahoma Baptist’s Hannah White claimed Offensive Player of the Week; Northwestern Oklahoma State’s Caitlyn Bidart earned Defender of the Week and Ouachita’s Michele Snow captured Goalkeeper of the Week.
GAC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK – Hannah White, Oklahoma Baptist, M, Sr., Norman, Oklahoma
White netted three second-half goals, her first three of the season, in the Bison’s 4-3 come-from-behind victory against Central Oklahoma, the No. 6 team in United Soccer Coaches Central Region rankings. She tied the match at 2-2 and put the team in ahead, 3-2 and 4-3. The game-winning goal came in the 81st minute on a header for the first hat trick of her career.
GAC DEFENDER OF THE WEEK – Caitlyn Bidart, Northwestern Oklahoma State, Sr., Gardnerville, Nevada
Bidart led a Northwestern defense that surrendered just a combined 12 shots, seven on target, in their road wins against Nebraska-Kearney and Wayne State. The Rangers shut out the Lopers, 1-0, and defeated the Wildcats, 4-1. The Rangers’ 3-1 start represents their best four-game start since joining the GAC in 2012.
GAC GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK – Michele Snow, Ouachita, Jr., North Richland Hills, Texas
Snow recorded consecutive shutouts in home victories against Union and Christian Brothers. After collecting a save in a 2-0 win against Union, she totaled eight in a 1-0 win against the Lady Bucs. She had recorded three shutouts through the Tigers’ opening four games and she lowered her goals-against average to 0.71.
