According to the OHP report, a 16-year-old female from Whitesboro was injured when the 2019 Kia Forte she was driving departed right from the roadway and struck a tree. She was transported to Baptist Hospital in Fort Smith and then to Children’s Hospital in Little Rock with a lower back injury.
The passenger, also a 16-year-old female from Whitesboro, was treated and released at Baptist Hospital in Fort Smith.
The accident occurred about 12:32 PM on Highway 63 approximately 1.3 miles west of Whitesboro. The OHP report states that the cause of the collision was inattentive driver. Both the driver and passenger were wearing their seatbelts.
The accident was investigated by OHP and assisted by LeFlore County EMS and Whitesboro Fire Department.
